It is a compilation of contemporary living artists with a biographical write-up and artwork.
It's like: “a struggling artist's coffee table book anthology."
FULL COLOR. Hardcover. Magazine size. English.
This book is NOT FOR PROFIT.
Theme:
“Artists struggle through pain to create new visions.”
The theme will be answered in two ways: A short biographical essay and a piece of artwork on the facing page.
Guidelines:
A page biography and a page of
>The bio should include an artist statement and discussion of the piece.
>The artwork must be high resolution and fit the Theme. Fantastic and strange artwork/drawing/illustration/abstract/comics preferred. The artwork must be specific to you and original. No photography.
>I'll need your shipping addy to send to books and social media/website info.
Who gets in?:
You must be in pain of some sort and have a diagnosis of a chronic disease, or had people your entire life tell you it's all in your head. Diagnosis' of Lyme, Fibro, CFS, Lupus, Cancer, MS, Arthritis, etc are welcome.
Roughly ages 25-45. International. Open to all.
20-25 Artists plus.
Artists receive copies of the book and recognition.
Goal:
To create a platform, a chorus of voices of young, emerging artists in an attractive volume.
Passion! Truth! Creative vision! Birth, death and transcendence!
Edited and Produced by me. ONGOING PROJECT.
I will need to hire out for design and typography and get help with successful crowdfunding to alleviate printing and shipping costs.
Target Audience:
It is for artists, Art lovers, those interested in how human stories inform the practice of making art, and for those who buy books for decoration.
